A Ghouls Promise.

Ghouls, creatures that look exactly like us, act like us in the public eye and seem just like a normal, everyday human, there's just a few catches, for one, they can't eat any normal food, their bodies reject it and if ingestion continues it can lead to the Ghoul dying. And secondly, Ghouls have a unique predatory organ, the Kagune, these organs differ between ghouls but they all have one shared trait, they are lethal.

Kaneki Ken is your stereotypical bookworm, he spends whatever free time from school he has reading, his favourite author is Takatsuki Sen and his favourite book of hers is the Black Goats Egg.
His best friend, Hideyoshi Nagachika, on the other hand is the complete opposite, out going and always energetic, Hide is studying at Kamii University alongside Kaneki.

This story deviates from the cannon from the get go, instead of studying Japanese Literature at Kamii, Kaneki is studying Ghoul Biology, his goal? simple, after graduation he wants to join up at the CCG and help cleanse the world of the Ghoul plague it is suffering from, lets just say, thats not where his story is destined to go.
