After a bit more than three years of the fire that killed the king and caused severe burns to the princess Irene, she would be presented again to the society of the Kingdom of Torim. Jordana, the monarch's former companion, couldn't hide her eagerness to see her friend again. But to her and the whole court astonishment, the now queen Irene appears wearing a gruesome plaster mask. Would have the fire damaged her face so badly that she preferred to wear a mask like that?

On the way back home, still trying to accustom her mind with the bizarre image of the masked monarch, Jordana is approached by a young woman wearing tattered clothes.
