A Spartan III named Michael has been assigned to protect outpost 7 with a new squad of marines. This Spartan III has lost everything from family to friends due to the Covenant, he has vowed to kill the elite who killed his family. But when his outpost is attacked everything changes when he meets a certain Zealot that is different from the other Elites.

Raya 'Zonamee was one of the first females in the Covenant to become a Zealot. Along with her brother Ira 'Zonamee that have been assigned to eradicate the humans on the planet Reach. Though she is supposed to be one of the holiest warriors she can't help but doubt the great journey and is suspicious that the Prophets are lying to her. She is deciding whether or not to leave the Covenant or stay, but when she meets a certain Spartan that is defending the outpost she is supposed to take she makes her decision.
