Having known each other since they were in diapers, Jesse and Crystal have been friends for a long time. At the age of six, Jesse's father finds a job that needs them to move. When he tells Crystal, the smaller child protests against it heavily. Finally, they decided to temporarily end their friendship on a promise to never forget each other.

Years later, Jesse is just getting out of the army, being an air force soldier in training, and Crystal is in college for photography. Both still very fondly remember each other and just a couple days before Jesse comes to visit, Crystal get's into a terrible car crash that results in her being in a coma for an unknown amount of time and slight memory loss. The part of her memory being lost is any memory of knowing who Jesse Williams is.

Now, Jesse being the only one who remember's such a treasured friendship, besides Crystal's family, he plans to start from scratch with Crystal and build their friendship up again.
