Mr. Sausage felt as if someone was toying with him. He looked up, and sure enough, there was the infamous thief Hammy McLegHam! He was perched on top of a building, spying on Mr. Sausage with the lettuce under one arm. But as soon as they made eye contact, the former sped off like when there's only one Tim Tam left in the store.
Well, two can play at that game! Mr. Sausage thought. He ran as fast as his tiny little legs could carry him, chasing the thief with his lettuce.
Of course, it was all in vain, as Hammy was much faster than the sausage.
He was left panting over his knees, desperately trying to regain his breath.
In this big country Mr. Sausage was like a needle in a haystack. Oh, how he wished to go to the safety and comfort of his home! But alas, this quest must be accomplished, and he must get the lettuce.
