"How do you know her?" "I don't," he said tightly. "But I know what her pack did," His words confused me, "she's a killer. I've been tracking her for weeks." My blood ran cold. "You're lying." "I wish I was," he murmured, stepping closer again. "She's dangerous, Dawn." "She's my friend." He flinched like I'd struck him. "She's the reason people are after you." "That doesn't make sense-" "She's the one they were following. But they found you too, and they changed their target. I don't know why." His eyes flicked over my face, his tone shifting. "Unless... unless they know what you are." I took a sharp step back, panic clawing at my throat. "You don't know anything about me." "No," he said quietly. "But I want to."
