I drop to my knees as soon as I see the ball is released from Jessica's hand. It hits the top of the base and somehow the batter's shoe, bouncing off to a place I hadn't seen. Slowly, I get up and search for the bright sphere when I suddenly hear people yelling at me to find it quicker.

'It hit her shoe, it's supposed to be a dead ball,' I thought in confusion. I looked for the ball frantically as the screaming gets louder. 'I can't see a dang thing with the catchers mask on, but there's not enough time to throw it off.'

Everyone is screeched for me to find it, and my heart starts beating faster and faster every millisecond that goes by. 'God, I can't find it! I can't find it!'
