Six and a half weeks pass before Owen Carter's return. After a passionate reunion with Madison, they attend his father's funeral after "a deal went South" ending in his death. Owen's irrational behavior leaves Madison on edge. As much as she tries to keep up with him, she finds it difficult. She believes taking the next step in their relationship could have a positive outcome but can she face the consequences of getting involved in the mafia. The game is out of her league and she struggles to fit into Owen's life.
