"We will never bow to man." For years the Amazons have been living isolated from men, only leaving to find a suitable man to mate with, to produce more girls. They would never bow to a man; they would rather kill a man than marry a man. They have stayed hidden, participating in wars against men, the women have stayed strong in their resolve, and they have never weakened to a man and would rather die than ever become a slave to a man. Rhea is young and has finally come of age; it is her turn to go out into the world to find herself a man to produce a child with. Rhea would much rather get it over and done with, she was wanted to prove she was not the weak link, she just wanted to fulfil her duty and head back to her small village. But Bastian-a Greek warrior-is as stubborn as she is and brings a lot of trouble with him. (this amazing cover on the side was made for me by @Ashihara and @appetence, thank you both so much!)

The Hartkos has seen every city from Babylon to Egypt. She's defied kings. Led armies. Brokered treaties. Confronted gods. None of it prepared her for raising a child. Now living among the Ekweian nomads at the edge of the known world, the Hartkos once more felt trouble on the wind. Restless gods spoke quarrelsome words that many were all too eager to hear. Change was coming. Could she prepare her daughter to face it in time? Growing up with a legendary mother is hard. Glory, leadership, battle, Ameza couldn't care less, despite her mother's best efforts. Ameza craved only one thing: friends. That is, until the Hartkos' mysterious murder forces Ameza to rethink her future. But when friends become enemies and enemies are sometimes gods, where does one look for help? As powerful gods move mortals like pawns, Erinys, Goddess of Vengeance, is watching. And she does not like what she sees. With sacred laws breaking and secrets afoot, Erinys needs her own pawn to set things right. Who better than the guilt-stricken daughter of the murdered Hartkos to force those secrets to light? The stories of mother and daughter, gods and mortals, intertwine in this merging of myth and history to recount one of the greatest untold stories of history: the origin of the Amazons.
