Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. I had to remind myself everyday after school before entering my house. I opened the door, only to be greeted by silence. I saw him staring at me on the couch with an empty bottle of Jack in his hand. I quickly averted my eyes and ran up the stairs to the safe haven of my bedroom, quickly locking the door behind me. I heard the footsteps outside my door. I then heard a loud bang and suddenly my door was smashed open. Their stood my brother glaring at me murderously and says the words that shattered my heart "It should have been you."

Noah's life is torn apart on her 13th birthday when her parents die in a car crash. What's worse is that she was in the car when her parents died.
