Lucy Carr was born with light. Just like everyone else. But as she got older the ball light disappeared and that's when she knew she had to go find it. Like she wasn't going to be okay. The sound seem to get loud the crowds laughter and talking seems to be turned up. Her vision blurred as she couldn't see anymore..as if she was crying. And she was. Behind the Innocent Smile
Emma Chase. She may seem as a normal high school girl with a fiery spirit. Always smiling and laughing to jokes told by her friends. But was it real? Was the smile real and not fake, the laughs true and not forced. We don't know. Nobody does. Emma is so used to hiding her emotions and putting on a facade that in her old school everyone thought her facade was the real her. She had to live up to the standards her facade made and live in the lie that was "Chase". Back then she was reckless, daring and wild to the point where it got out of hand. She had built herself a reputation that didn't fit her. Everyone has secrets. Whether or not you tell anyone them is your choice, but not for Emma. She has too many to count and too many that she drowns in them, but she stays afloat because she knows the burden that they are and she's built herself to carry it all. She's learned to ignore the scars and demons and hide her secrets. Now she gets a restart at life. In a new city where no one knows or heard of her or rather "Chase". With these new faces will she hide behind this facade of her's or allow herself to be her. Will she have come this far only to have this chance ripped from right under her feet because of her old habits? Will Emma find her way back and defeat her demons? [COMPLETED] [50,000 - 55,000 WORDS] Elizabeth Cooper. Also known as Betty by her friends. Or the people who used to be her friends. They all left once a nasty rumor was spread about her. They were all disappointed in her. Yes, they didn't care if she was lesbian or not, but all left after this nasty rumor. Her home life was no better. Her father abused her. Her mother keeps forcing her to take pills. Her sister never visits, and she's left all alone. She turned to cutting herself and starving herself. It's not like anybody would care; she always tells herself. She cries or cuts herself to sleep every night. Or maybe even both. What happens when a mysterious raven-haired princess comes to town. Will she help Betty recover? Or will she be mean and ruin her life like everybody else, and maybe push her over the edge? How will things turn out for Betty? *** "I've just... given up," I said.
