Im only writing this to maybe relate with others who have gone threw to show them they are not alone but mostly to get it off my chest so that my heart can heal hope you enjoy and give positive feedback this is just part one i have several more that i will write if i see people are intrested in the life on a little black girl growing up in the south

I felt his hand as it gently pushed the strands of hair that were blocking his view of my face, behind my shoulder. The action caused his fingers to involuntarily graze my jawline and neck making me stiffen. The short contact left my body feeling warm and my breathing to suddenly turn irregular. I Remember
I decided to write this memoir for my kids. Kalina, Braylon and Bryce. I wanted them to know how I grew up and what all happened when I was a child. Maybe one day they can sit down and read this little book and remember MOMMA. I want to also apologize if this memoir offends any family member, every one has their memories of events in their lives. Let me tell mines as I lived them and as they were told to me by other family members during my lifetime. This book is filled with traumatic yet funny memories of my upbringing. It's a tell all from what I went through, in my eyes not anyone else's. Hope you enjoy reading this as I've enjoyed writing it. It's not meant to seek pity, instead it's written to shine light on the real problems of society. poverty, single moms, the damage due to drugs, incest, abuse and most of all, origins of brokenness. Jairo Agbayani or JAY is a 24 year old man living his everyday life in Chicago, Illinois. He's not satisfied but he's not complaining, however he feels that he should be doing more. Though he has no clue where to start, so he's settled for now. One fateful New Years Eve dared to change the course of his life for the better, and for the first time in his life he just might let it. Juniper Bartok, a 23 year old woman supposedly in her 'prime.' Though she doesn't really know how true that statement is. Because frankly? she doesn't really know where she's going. But as long as God guides, she's decided to follow faithfully. She's been following Christ full heartedly for a few years and it seems to be a new lesson everyday. How we made it in South Africa

I started writing this book 13 May 2008 It takes you through our whole experience of rising up and prospering in South Africa - even under a racist ANC government. I've written this book as an inspiration, that even in the face of huge adversity, you can come out on the other side and make it. However, my wish for you is not to only "make it" - but live your best life. I invite you to come on this journey with us. It was sometimes an emotional rollercoaster with many trials and tribulations, but the end result was worth it. This book is very special and unique in the sense that it was started and written while I was at the lowest point in my life with no salvation in sight... It's wasn't written in hindsight or after the fact. It started with hope, a dream, a promise. You will see when you start going through these pages - If I could make it, surely you can. I've been through my own struggle, whether it was created in my head by way of prolonged sadness or bitterness/resentment, or if I was struggling with things I had no control over like failed friendships, a broken heart, or family drama.
