Evan Hansen was born with a sixth sense that caused him to be able to feel anyone else's emotions.  As he grew up, it was relevant and constantly used, considering he was unable to control it; though, when the sense became easier to control, he disregarded it, wanting to be as normal as possible.

Nonetheless, that power brought him to saving a boy's life.  One that he would soon desire to spend his life with.

After some arguing and relentless begging, Evan reluctantly agrees, only wanting to make his mom happy. Connor Murphy, facing depression, drug addiction, and an increasingly deteriorating relationship with his family, finds joy only in weed and acting. He'd been attending the same class for three years, the only place he felt at peace. On Evan's first day, he notices everyone else already had their own groups of friends, no one was alone, except him. Well, him and the boy with the long hair and black hoodie who was intimidatingly brooding in the corner. Connor is not the most welcoming, in fact he's far from it. Though, eventually he begins to tolerate Evan's presence, and soon goes from tolerating it to enjoying it. Note: This is an AU, in the musical version Connor is not good friends with Evan while in this version he is (due to the events that transpired in this fanfiction), so while I ship treebros in the AU context this is not the original musical, you can make your own opinion after watching the original.
