Arix Rhollar was simply an archaeologist living a kind normal life, exploring jungles. When exploring a jungle, he stumbles upon a portal to a different, mysterious world. He is soon captured by creatures from that world, and finds out the world he is in is in the midst of a war between gods spanning millenniums. Rescued by the resistance opposing the evil power of this world, he discovers new truths. The most important of which is that he is the son of a god, and he must defeat the leader of the darkness of that world, who is also a god, and coincidentally happens to be the brother of his father.
