"This story is perhaps the best Merlin-fanfic I've ever read." - TheForeverChosenOne:

                                                                                  ---------------------------------

'The great doors of Camelot flew open, announcing the arrival of the long awaited guest...'

Camelot and the Kingdom of Albion are in danger and, in this hour of darkness, King Arthur is forced to call upon the help of his oldest friend: a man whom he believes has betrayed him and whom he has banished from the Kingdom.

For the sake of his people King Arthur is forced to put aside his oldest beliefs and place his trust in a world that he has always been taught to fear.
There is only one man who has any hope of saving Camelot but before he can overcome the darkness he must overcome the problems closer to home.

The time of darkness has come. Albion's need is at its greatest. King Arthur is all but powerless.

Merlin has returned.

This is my version, a humorous retelling of the famous legend, a medieval fantasy- coming of age- romantic comedy. *This story is purposely historically innacurate, set in some parallel, fantastical Britain that is different from what it had really been in the past, even though I'm using real locations, historically confirmed battles, and the Saxons as enemies of my legendary King Arthur. 20 year old Ariella Morgenstern lost her mother to an evil sorcerer when she was just seven years old, and has had some pain in her heart since, though her father, King Oberon, hates magic, but not nearly as much as King Uther, because of it. Ever since, Ariella has been sent to the city of Camelot, in her father's hopes that she could marry Prince Arthur, but Ariella only sees him as a brother, and wants to marry for love. Ariella and her brother Eric are sent to Camelot once again. There, Ariella meets Arthur's new man servant for the first time, and they immediately form a bond-a bond that which cannot be broken. The Great Dragon knows that Ariella is to help Merlin protect Arthur and to unite the land of Albion-but what he failed to mention, was the very important fact that she and Merlin are meant to be together, despite Ariella being a princess, and Merlin, a servant. Merlin possesses a dangerous secret, one that would possible get him killed-and does Ariella. Only her brother, Eric, knows, because Ariella trusts him with her life, and he would do anything to protect his sister, no matter the cost. Follow Ariella on her adventure of magic, love and loss, and watch as each of her secrets are revealed. Can the love of a warlock heal the pain in Ariella's heart? Will Merlin and Ariella get their happily ever after, despite seemingly being from two different worlds apart, or will their enemies keep them apart?
