My heart is pounding in my chest, the sound of my blood rushing through my veins echoes in my ears as I splash through the dark tunnels of Derry's vast sewer system. Why did I come down here looking for him? He told me not to.
I stop for a moment as I come to a fork in the tunnels, two passage ways on either side of me, and I had one choice to make. Right or left? Looking to my right I notice a pair of bright yellow eyes glowing in the distance, the water at my feet lapping gently against my skin as they move closer.
"You can't hide from me, Emberlee..." His maniacal laugh reverberates off the concrete walls of the tunnels.
Without putting too much thought into it I sprint down the left tunnel away from the monster chasing me. I had gotten myself into this mess, and I had let him into my life.
After all, a monster is a monster.

The sun shone in the sky causing rays to fall and hit the glass of my parents car reflecting in my eyes making me utter a groan in annoyance and alter the direction I was facing.
