"You shouldn't need to drink to try and drown your feelings Kayla. I've watched the people around me do this all my life and it doesn't fix anything." "I know it won't fix anything, but for right now it helps me forget" "You can't keep running away or hiding. In the end it all catches up." "You sound like you've been through this before." "I guess you could say that." "You want me to open up to you, but are you ever going to open up to me? I want to get to know you Tyler, but you are so closed off. You know why I got knocked over by that wave? Because I was watching you, I was watching your face and seeing how free you felt riding that wave. It's the only time I've ever seen you let go. You know that someone hurt me, but I think you have been hurt too. When you're ready to talk, I'll be waiting. Maybe we can help each other." "Maybe I'm not worth getting to know" he replied. "And maybe I'm not worth you trying to save me either. Or maybe I am" With that I got up and left him to think about what I said. I put my cards on the table, now it was up to him to make the next move. ******** A year ago, Kayla had it all, doting parents and a relationship with her older brother that others envied. That is until she meets Tyler, who can see right through the hurt. He has his own secrets though and isn't ready to let anyone in. Together they will either fall apart or fall together.

Fifteen-year-old Kaylin Podmore has a pretty great life, basically everything a teenager living in Lexington, Kentucky could ever dream of. Her parents own one of the most successful Thoroughbred racehorse operations in the country and she has three of the best friends any girl could have, especially as her freshman year of high school starts to come to an end. She catches the eye of Lucas Mitchell, a sophomore starting quarterback for her school's varsity football team. As they learn about one another and grow closer, a potential serious relationship starts to grow between them, but her ex-boyfriend Jesse Landford, her older sister Kimberly and Lucas's ex-girlfriend, Nichole Young, are determined to try to keep them from getting together for different reasons. Kaylin knows Nichole is a stuck up spoiled rich girl, and she doesn't believe a word that Nichole says about her and Lucas, but her sister's another story. She and Kim know their dad isn't exactly keen on either of his daughters dating so it causes problems in-between them after Kim shares the news with their dad about her and Lucas's budding relationship. Other than their friends, the only people who seem to like the idea of Kaylin and Lucas potentially getting together are her mom and his family, who're all being supportive because they know each other from their kids going to school together and being in the same business, even if they're competitors. Her mom often has to settle disputes in-between her and her dad but that doesn't mean her dad is going to stop being negative about Kaylin's growing relationship with Lucas. Kaylin is set on finishing out the year, hopefully with Lucas as her boyfriend despite the trouble it is causing in her life to have a great summer with her friends and watching her favorite horse, Faith's Magic, start her racing career.

Every summer, Brielle Hayes and her parents escape the gray skies of Washington for the same quiet coastal town along the Oregon shore Seabrook Cove, a place that's always felt like their second home. For Brielle, it's the perfect setting to disappear into her books, far from real-life complications. She'd rather stay tucked away in her room than bother with summer activities or socializing. But this summer feels different. Still reeling from heartbreak right before vacation, she expects to spend her days holed up in her room, reading instead of trying to make the most of her break. As far as she's concerned, summer is already ruined. Books are her life the only thing that makes reality bearable. That is, until her mom unexpectedly reunites with her old college best friend-and Brielle finds herself spending the summer next door to Luca Knight, her mom's best friend's son. He's everything Brielle isn't: confident, charming, effortlessly magnetic. The kind of guy who could make anyone's heart skip, except hers and having his name mentioned makes her roll her eyes and don't give him the time of day. At first, they clash especially when Luca teases her for living too much in her fantasy world of fairy tales, a comment Brielle can't stand. She hates people like him the ones who judge without understanding. Guys like him are assholes and shouldn't be entertained. But the more time they're forced to spend together, thanks to their moms' and Brielle's matchmaking schemes, the harder it becomes to ignore the connection growing between them. What starts as barely tolerating each other turns into late-night talks, shared secrets, and the kind of closeness that feels like healing. Still, summer can't last forever, and when it ends, Brielle realizes that some goodbyes aren't as simple as they seem. © 2025 Ari Wynter. All rights reserved. COMPLETED Burton High is not a white-collared, run of the mill school. We've got the art kids, we've got the weird goths that hang around one particular place as though they're a pack of wild animals. We've got the druggies and the cheerleaders and the jocks. I guess I would consider myself a jock; I definitely would not consider myself a cheerleader. Let me rephrase; I am a jock. I may have boobs and long, blonde hair that my mom begs me to curl, but I would rather slap my toes into a door frame on repeat than resemble a young lady at all. So yes; I am one hundred percent a jock. ~~~ Paige Miller is determined to earn her spot at one of the best hockey programs in North America. But her boyfriend is counting on that exact same spot. After a fight that leaves Paige wondering if there's anything left to save with her boyfriend, she flies 2000 miles with her best friend Simon to see the school that's pretty much willing to do anything to get her on their team. In this steamy love story, sparks fly when they aren't supposed to, relationships are broken, and hearts are left torn.
