BIG DISCLAIMER: If you haven't listened to the soundtrack/seen animatics, and grasped the story of the Be More Chill musical, then I highly advise you don't read this.
If you do read it without all that context, then you'll probably just be confused as all hell.
You have been warned.

Michael Mell, a highschool sophomore, used to half of a pair with his best friend Jeremy Heere. Life was fine for him, he couldn't have been happier. That is until one fateful day when Jeremy bought a S.Q.U.I.P.
Which is a supercomputer that helps improve one's life, whether it be something like popularity or ruining someone's life, or just help with homework.
The S.Q.U.I.P. absolutely took over Jeremy's life, and took him away from Michael.
One night at a party, Michael locked himself in a bathroom.
Then...something happens to him...

After the events of the SQUIP Jeremy gets a second chance to discover himself and find love, perhaps not where he thought he would find it. Original book by Ned Vizzini although events mostly follow on from the musical by Joe Iconis and Joe Tracz. Warning: mentions self-harm and attempted suicide as well as recreational drug use.
