For most of the 500 million inhabitants of Capital Three the daily lottery run by Morse Industries is their only chance to escape the drudgery of their otherwise miserable existence. With a top prize of 100 million credits, and a dream job at Morse Industries, it's easy to see why.
In a downtown greasy diner Nathan Wiseman has some great news for his wife, Barb. That is if he can get her to listen. But then again, maybe now he can buy himself a new Barb.
