In a futuristic North America, called Cronus, a deadly epidemic has ravaged the population. Eudrain, the quarantined, healthy side of the country is full of people waiting to become ill and be dragged to Learol, where the sick go to die.  17 year old Rumor is immune to the so called Spread while the boy she loves, Benoni is not. When Ben is inevitably taken to Learol, Rumor must go to drastic measures to get him back.
