It's been about a year in Narnia since Edmund, Peter, and Lucy returned from England after the last great battle. The three of them, along with Edmund's and Peter's new brides, have been living comfortably in Cair Paravel. Lucy, the narrator, is confident that things are perfect just the way they are. In fact, she only wants one thing to be different: Susan is not with them. 
    One fateful morning, a dark magic sweeps through the castle, and soon Susan isn't the only thing missing.
