Ava is a 12-year-old girl whose father died  in a car crash when she was two months old and whose mother died from cancer when she was nine years old.  Her and her  17-year-old brother Cameron have been living with their appearance obsessed on Shelly an alcoholic uncle Todd for three years.  After watching his sister go through so much mental and physical abuse and going through the abuse himself  Cameron has decided that he will fight to become Ava's legal guardian when he turns 18 so that him and Ava can move away from the toxic adults that have been "taking care" of them.
