Joshua as dating Venessa , he "had" to move to a different state. He told Venessa that she couldn't come , she was getting texts from her friends that he's cheating. Venessa saw a account on gmail and started talking to him and his name was Elijah. He was a true gentleman, they got attached really fast.
Joshua lies to everybody and thinks he gets away but after dating Venessa for 4 years he should know how much she loves detective work, she knew he was lying the whole time and then she found more proof then she needed, the world turns on her and when her best friends try to come back she gets more upset that they left in the first place so she has to get through her tuff moments herself, no family no friends.
