Have you ever watched a love one die? Ariel Langton has. 3 of them, her parents and her older brother in a car accident. Now, 1 year after the accident, she stays in the same town but is now living with her uncle, she goes back to school with no boyfriend, all of her old friends ditched her to stay popular she doesn't even care. Her life means nothing to her, she believes in nothing especially love. Everything is just a mirage and is all in your mind and is not real. Even when she meets Carson, a very hot emo guy who does believe in love, the harder he tries the harder she refuses to believe him. 

So why is it that when he stops hanging out with her and answering her calls to hang out with her old friends it makes her want him back. (Especially now that he's dating Laura, the head cheerleader and the bitchiest girl in their school A.K.A. Ariel's ex-best friend.) 

As she discovers who she is inside and what she really wants. Maybe, just maybe, not everything is a mirage? And there is such a thing called moving on? And falling in love? Could falling in love with Carson be real?...Or just another Mirage?
