James Hanson has never exactly been the high school quarterback stereotype. He's one of the top recruits in the country, but he's always been too shy, too sensitive, and (secretly) too gay to really fit the mold. 

Nobody knows about James's secret boyfriend, Rafa, but Rafa knows James's biggest secret: that his rich, powerful father has a mean streak. 

In October of his senior year, things come to a head. His football coach is suspicious. His friends are worried. Rafa's begging him to report his father. And his father is becoming increasingly unstable.
