Amelia Sampson has learned to cherished her life, despite the bullying she goes through. Everyone makes fun of the family she's come to love. When Amelia was five, both her parents were in a car accident. Since no one was willing to take her in, in her family, she was sent into the foster system. After about four abusive foster homes she comes to the Thompson home. The Thompson house is raised by two dads, Sam and Josh, and two kids, Kevin and Katy, which were twins.
Ever since Amelia was put into the system she told herself to not trust anyone, except herself. But when she comes to the Thompson house it all changes. She's showered with love, caring, and most importantly, happiness. Nine years later she's seventeen years old and has been officially a part of the family. She's in her senior year with only nine months left.
Amelia is known as the loner/nerd with gay parents, causing her to be friendless. That is until Shane Williamson came to town. Shane's family moved to the small town after a mishap with his father and the rest of his family. Now his mom, little sister, and him are moving away from the bad memories that remained in the house. Shane's the kind of guy who hides his feelings and his past from everyone. But it's different with Amelia. He feels the need to open up to her, and that's what scares him.
Will Shane and Amelia open up to each other, or will they be left in the dark? what will happen between Amelia and Shane when his past comes back to haunt him?

But it all came crashing down when her mom got in a car accident on her way to see her ride. *1 month later* She moves in with her dad who she hasn't seen in 10 years since he left when she was 7 years old and she's hated him ever since. When she gets there she wants nothing to do with him. Still hurting from her mom's accident and thinking it was her fault her mom ended up dying and now to go on top of that she has to live with the dad that abandoned her all those years ago. Rose thinks she can beat them, so Rose challenges her and tells her that she can beat her, so they make a deal, but the one think Rose didn't think of was that she stopped ridding because of her mom's accident and that means she has to get back on a horse. At first she doesn't think she can until a beautiful grayish white mustang comes to her dad's farm, who Rose names later as Stardust. Rose finally realizes that she can do this alone, she's going to need help from her father to help her get back on and also have help from the new cute boy, Austin who's helping for his community service. At first he doesn't want to be there, but eventually finds a reason to stay. Rose has had a good life up until the day of the accident, but now she's got to face loss, and heartbreak, but she's got to learn to get back in the race. This story holds romance, family, trust, understanding the past, and conquering your fears. *Read to find out more, I know it may sound boring from the description, but it's really not.
