Brier Aft was a dangerous thing, formally a man, twisted by the virus within him, and now non-human. He rules his people, the Evolutions, with an iron grip, and is still driving humanity to the brink of extinction, even a 100 years after their fall from grace. Dangers, other than the Evolutions, prowl the once-great areas of the world, now rural and destroyed: Evolution animals that have escaped the Lost Zone, disease's, once thought to be long dead, rise up to pick off survivors, famines, and other things. The Greffon Rebellion was failing their endeavors, trying to kill Brier and his rule. Until Avalyn Kóborkumegia and Creed came along...
