This is based off of thepastelpeach on YouTube who made an amazing Sanders Sides animatic of the song, Ready as I'll Ever Be. I kind of changed the story a little bit to fit my liking, but most of it will be pretty similar to what's in the description of the video. If you haven't already, you should check out that video.
Also credits to whoever drew this (yes, I stole this off the internet). I'm not sure who drew this but this sure as heck ain't mine.
Roman is a peasant who lives a very poor, yet happy life. Everything changes when he meets Patton, Virgil, and Logan, who all work for the prince of the kingdom. Roman wants to join them, but can't. He is then presented with an option to be the ruler of his own kingdom. Will he accept?

Hold On (Book 1 of It's Not Over)
[Completed] Sanders Sides human au fanfic. Twin brothers Virgil and Patton Novas have moved around a lot thanks to their father's job. From their father's home country, and their birth place, of Cabo Verde to their mother's country of birth, Ireland. From Ireland to Massachusetts. From Massachusetts to Arizona. After spending several years in a stable environment they're moving again, this time not only are they leaving behind friends but also their mother's grave. Virgil has to convince his twin brother and their dad that, despite his terrible migraines and sometimes crippling anxiety, he won't go down the same road as his mother. On top of having an overprotective family he has to navigate being the new kid in his senior year of high school, making friends, falling in love, and learning how to save a life. How hard can the next nine months be? All he has to do is hold on and convince his new best friend to do the same. I do not own the characters Virgil, Patton, Roman, Remus, Deceit, Remy, or Emile Picani. They belong to the awesome, amazingly talented cinnamon roll that is Thomas Sanders. I also don't like 99% of the music and song lyrics that will make an appearance in this book. I am, however, the proud owner of the hyperactive muse (by the name of Orion who makes an appearance in here) that spawned this story into existence when he was supposed to be helping me work on my other two fan fictions and three original works. And I'm also the owner of the many side and minor background characters that may or may not get names.Concluida

"I'm sorry, they found a what?" The five years after the passing of King Victor had been very harsh on the kingdom of Eaden. No one would disagree with that. He had been a benevolent ruler and a kind man. But everyone knew that his death had affected his son Thomas the most. Crowned king at the age of 24, and not having expected to rise to the position for years yet, Thomas had struggled to follow in his father's footsteps. He was getting much better, but it took time. He had to thank his three advisors for that. The castle's experienced healer was his physician and confidant, a quick-witted and talented knight had proved his bravery and taken his spot as the kingdom's head of defense, and the tutor who had taught Thomas almost everything he knew as a child became his lead strategist. The three were like family to him, even if their occasional bickering set his nerves on edge. And of course, the constant trouble that seemed to find them. Like now, for example, because King Thomas had just been informed that his Inner Circle had found a body of a young man in the moat of the castle. Boy x Boy. If you don't like this kinda stuff then don't read it. Only rated mature for foul language, a lot of cursing, blood, gore, violence, mentions of self harm, abuse, and other deep topics. If this makes you uncomfortable or triggers you then don't read it! Virgil is a poor peasant under the curse of an evil warlock who only goes by the name Deceit. Roman, the young and popular dashing king is lonely and is in search of a queen or king. The two bump into each other on accident and worlds collide between the two. Roman suddenly feels like he has company and Virgil has a new feeling he can't describe. When Virgil's master finds out it only brings hell for the star-cross lovers with a curse and a whole lot of trouble standing in the way between the two. Disclaimer: I don't own any of Sanders sides characters, they all belong to Thomas Sanders, I don't own the very little art in here, or the songs I use, OR any of the photos I found on safari... all that's mine is the story plot. (P.s. this story IS finished, the only way I'll be updating this is for announcements or A/N (a.k.a author notes) so if you have finished this story and are waiting for another chapter even tho I CLEARLY labeled the end. Then I'm sorry to let you know that this story is done my dude, but I have plenty more stories to go around that you can see if you follow me to get notifications on my activity. And I KNOW in the knew most recent episode with Janus and his character development goes against EVERYTHING he is in this story and I see him a lot differently now. Doesn't mean I'm I'm going to change his character and I'm keeping this story exactly the way it is. But they too learn to survive without Virgil. Surviving, not living, that's what Patton says. But what happens when 5 years later Virgil returns with a mysterious so called 'alchemist' named Logan in a blue button-up cloak with a whole load of secrets on his shoulders?
