Rowdy, rough, and queer?

Princess Pandora qualifies as all of these things, as well as short, feisty and clever. As she is reaching the ultimate age of eighteen, both her parents and people expect that she will choose a handsome, kind prince as her lover. Rule the kingdom of Legimeth with her. But that's not what Pandora wants.

Pandora wants to rule her kingdom all by herself, as she is perfectly capable of doing so. Every suitor who comes to the castle falls for her charm, cunning, and intelligence, but all of them have been turned down. Since her parents are sick of their rebellious daughter, constantly defying their orders and talking to the normal civilians, they have hosted a royal masquerade ball and have forced the young girl to choose someone there.

But Pandora has other plans.

Born a warrior, yet denied the right to fight, Pandora is nothing more than a phantom in her own kingdom. Locked away in the west wing of the castle, she exists in the shadows-ignored by a mother who should love her and unknown to a world that has forgotten her. Only Sam, her loyal protector, acknowledges her existence, training her for battles she may never fight. But Pandora doesn't crave recognition or love-only the chance to be worthy of Desmosis. That chance is stolen from her. Betrayed. Memory wiped. Cast into a world she doesn't remember, Pandora is left to claw her way through darkness with only fragments of herself to hold onto. But she is not alone. With the help of unlikely allies, she pieces together a past riddled with deception and an enemy far more dangerous than she ever imagined-her own mother. As the lies unravel and the blood of the forgotten stains her hands, Pandora must face the cruelest truth of all: some battles are not fought with swords, but with the strength to survive.
