Skylar Lockwood doesn't know her actual name. She's been an orphan her whole life. Nobody knows where she came from, but she remembers. She's gone mute ever since that day, and she doesn't express herself to others much. Skylar had one friend at the orphanage that was adopted, but on his way to his new house he was hit by a car and killed.
Skylar has always loved rock, metal, punk, and similar kinds of music, and so did her best friend. Her favorite band My Chemical Romance broke up when she was ten or eleven. She's not sure cause she doesn't even know how old she is or when she was born. She's always loved their music and it's helped her through so many things. It's one of the main reasons she's alive.
One day on adoption day a group of adopters come to the orphanage. They're looking for a specific kind of kid, one that'll fit in with their odd family. They don't find who they're looking for, but decide to come back on the next adoption day. Skylar didn't bother to go down the first time because she knows they won't adopt her... or will they?
Will Skylar go downstairs this time? Will she get adopted? What's going to happen to her favorite band?
