Star Trek: Hyperion

The USS Hyperion was called out to respond to a distress call that originated from a small mining freighter outside Klingon space. When they arrived, they were surprised to see a class 17 nebula floating in space. Federation ships had scouted out this part of the galaxy down to the last inch. There were no records of any nebula in this area. The Hyperion went into the nebula for further investigation. They found the mining freighter floating helplessly in space, all of its internal systems critically damaged. What happens next is in the past... and the future. Literally.
