Percy Jackson grew up chasing Annabeth. Ever since they were kids, he wanted to be the one boy to make her smile. Most times, he was. He was happy, with his best friend, and his mom. But he lied. Annabeth didn't know what he felt, and he wouldn't tell her.

The first time Annabeth had her heart broken, she went to the first boy to make her smile. Percy was the only one who still made her smile for a few days. They made a secret pact, one they both thought was silly, in later years... If neither of them were married by the time they were twenty-five, they would marry each other.

On Percy's 25th birthday, Annabeth found her fiance cheating, a week before the wedding. Until that day, when she curled up with Percy, a beer in her hands, she forgot about the pact. She forgot about the silly pact that made her smile and laugh at herself for making it. Until that day, she didn't realize why she made it, and she didn't realize why Percy had bothered to agree... When they both realize the truth, will the run to each other's arms like Percy once dreamed, or will the girl who hated Annabeth with a vengeance get in the way?
