A plague that isn't what it seems to be.
Survival, that gets harder every day.
Toss in two brutal teenagers and a pet Crow, and things get a little hectic when the shit hits the fan.

Split when a hoard of zombies overcomes them, Salem and Witch are forced to go on separates paths. One leads to salvation, and the other leads to the inevitable death that'll swallow us all in the end.
Witch's mother is killed while out scavenging, and she clings to Boone, her ever-loyal pet Crow, as her anchor to sanity. A year goes by while she's separated from Salem, and to say she has changed is.. well, an understatement.
She's vicious.
She's colder than before.
Basically, she's a robot in human skin. She speaks to Boone as if he's human, and refuses to be with anyone else unless it's for orders. But when Reid Jones enters the picture, her world begins to grow colour again.
But in a twisted world like this, anything could go wrong. It's only a matter of time.

Lara and her friend, the only person she can call family, Annabelle among them. During the chaos the two are separated, believing the other to be dead. Years pass. Both finding their own ways to survive in their new reality. Lara finds her place with another group of survivors, Annabelle makes her place in the woods with nothing but willpower and a friendly wolf. When rippers and their pet walkers come to the city looking for Annabelle, Lara finds out that her family is not dead. And that she is in grave danger. The cannibalistic rippers are not acting alone either. They under the order of a mysterious figure known only as 'The Master' and even the rippers, who keep the undead as pets, are afraid of him. Annabelle escaped from the master before, and not unscathed. The scars of her neck are the proof of that. She is no longer able to speak. With the rippers coming to town she knows it is time to move on. That camp just on the other side of the city is attacked by them. Annabelle's last act before hitting the road is to take out some of the rippers with her rifle. Memories from her past are coming back to haunt her. This is a Zombie Apocalypse AU. ______________________________________ Tara Carpenter loved Amber Freeman. Amber Freeman loved Tara Carpenter. They were childhood best friends, practically attached at the hip. Then, in late 2015, when they were 11, Amber went missing. Everyone looked practically everywhere they could think of, but Amber was never seen again. Her parents didn't seem to care, however. Four years later, in 2019, the apocalypse occurred around what would have been Amber's sophomore year of high school. She would have been 15, just like Tara and most of the others their age. It's now 2023, meaning it's been four years since the apocalypse started and almost a decade since Amber disappeared. The world isn't exactly "safe" anymore; it never truly was, anyway. There are still survivors here and there, but not many, as around a third of humanity has fallen (either killed or turned, usually both). The government, despite its best attempts to control what had happened, fell as well. It was long overdue. Amber is very much "alive". When she went "missing", it turned out her parents had sold her to a lab, and she was turned, in a way. Given that she seems mostly turned, she can easily appear to be completely gone, but she's not. She's still in there. However, it's hard to speak for her due to the infection in her veins, but she's for the most part okay. She wanders around now, often with hordes of fully turned zombies, traveling the devastated world. She has been almost everywhere, in terms of cities and locations. Eventually, she stumbles upon Woodsboro again and finds a few people she thought she'd never see again. And maybe, just maybe, they can help her become human again.Complete

It didn't exactly make it easy to prevent getting infected. Things could have been worse, though, Megan thought. She could've been left all alone to ponder over her thoughts and fear over the future. It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in.
