Light najde na zemi podivný zápisník. Člověk jehož jméno je zapsáno v tomhle zápisníku zemře, tak znělo pravidlo, které se Light v zápisníku dočetl. V té samé chvíli se na ulici  objeví zločinec, který napadá lidi ze zbraní v ruce. Light vezme příležitost do svých rukou a zapíše do divného zápisníku jméno pachatele.
