On a hunting trip to feed Alex meets Beth, a dying human. After she feeds she finds she doesn't want to leave. Beth ends up in hospital. Alex follows after her. She resists Beth's attempts to push her away. Finding out that Beth's sister has cast a spell may explain why she can't seem to walk out of Beth's life. In desperation she calls her vampire father.
