The Natural Empire

Adrian Mathews is a 25-year-old paranormal investigator who is offered up an amazing opportunity to investigate the abondoned cities of Chernobyl and Prypiat for ghosts with his investigation group, which includes his best friend Javier Young and Javier's wife Tanya Young. They end up finding so much more than spirits. They stuble upon Jessica, the princess of a super-human royal family and her friend Randolph. They call themselves, 'Magicans' (not pronounced magicians). Magicans remain hidden from human society and do not reveal themselves to human beings, although their entire existence is to keep most of the human world , and the magicans' enimes, Death's Decendants, try to influence humans to make bad decisions. Jessica and Adrian begin to have a strong interest in learning about each other soon after meeting. They see each other in Chernobyl many times... alone... without anyone else knowing. Jessica shows Adrian all the natural wonders of Chernobyl, even after the nuclear disaster that happened there over 20 years ago. Adrian starts to see Chernobyl for its nature and not its disaster, and sees how nature can triumph after even the worst of disasters. Soon new feelings begin to start between Jessica and Adrian, and Randolph's secret may threaten the lives of Adrian, Jessica, and many other humans.
