The excitement peaks, she can literally see the gears turning in their heads as they begin to size up each other. Pidge gives Keith a slow grin and his brows furrow curiously until she's whipping up her bayard and giving him a teasing zap that has him jumping away with a yelp and a look of utter betrayal. Hunk and Lance fail in stifling their laughter and Shiro only shakes his head. Though, a soft smile appears at the curve of his lips. Allura's grin only gets wider.
"...Against me."
A hushed silence falls over the training deck as their faces drop, all eyes going wide, the excitement cancels out with a blank and then it's rearing up again with something that feels like fear.

They decided to move closer to the ocean because of Lance's sake. Why, you ask? Well Lance was gifted as the Ocean's Child. He can control the ocean with his emotions- which at times gets the best of him. As Pidge is accepted into the college she applied for- she meets Keith. A young boy, who turns out is their neighbor! As Pidge learns more about Keith, Lance becomes more dangerous as he doesn't seem to be taking a liking to Keith. But being the most sensible of the group, Hunk decides to keep Lance and Keith far away as possible. "S-Stay, p-please," Keith mumbled, hiding his face in his pillow. Lance nodded climbing beside the small boy. Keith turned to face him, his face flushed as he looked at Lance, "T-Thanks." "For what?" Lance whispered, his breath close enough for Keith to touch. "B-Being by my side," Keith moved closer to Lance, closing the small distance between them, "I-I thought y-you'd all hate me." "Why would you think that?" "Ha," Keith let out a bitter laugh, "I'm half Galra. I share half of my DNA with a race who has killed countless civilizations, not to mention they kidnapped Shiro and Katie's family, and they-" "Exactly, "they". You didn't help them do any of that, right?" Lance touched Keith's forehead with his own, drinking in the feel of his soft skin. "N-No but-" "No "buts", you didn't choose to be born part Galra, and you have more than proved you're a paladin." "Allura and Coran hate me," Keith mumbled, trying to find some way to prove that they did indeed hate him. "No they don't, just give them some time to adjust," Keith turned around, pulling Lance's arm around him, "They have to get used to you. None of us hate you, not the smallest bit." Lance waited for Keith to argue but the boy had already fallen asleep. Lance hugged the boy tighter as he copied his steady breaths. "I could never hate you." ------------------------------------------------- Keith gets kidnapped during a simple mission of the paladins. He's tortured and abused for three days, leaving him a damaged mess. The paladins finally find him and bring him home, but Keith is acting strange, stranger than usual. I obviously don't own Voltron. It's been months since The Paladins found the Blue Lion and flew off into space. It's been months since they started fighting against Zarkon and The Galra Empire. During all those months, the Paladins have honed their skills and bonded more. Shiro being space dad made everyone train harder and harder, one training involved two on two team building to be 'more in sinc' as he put it. Keith and Pidge train together being the arms, and Lance and Hunk being the legs train together. During that time Keith and Pidge have grown closer so did Lance and Hunk. But one month, the Galra seemed to be inactive and it stunned all the Paladins. The only ones who knew what was going on was Coran, Allura, The Blades of Mamora and the rest of the universe who knew. It was mating season. Allura and Coran decided not to tell the Paladins and say that they could rest for a while and plan more attacks for when the Galra were active again because it was even more dangerous to attack during these two months. But they hadn't thought of their own Galra Hybrid... During the season Galra gets highly aggressive and territorial and very possessive of their mates. What happens when Keith starts clinging onto Pidge more? What happens when he starts being more aggressive towards the others? What happens when he starts to transform? "Okay," Lance murmured, shifting to get more comfortable against Keith. Lance stared out at the horizon. "Everything's so beautiful out here." "It is," Keith agreed, his voice quieter now. (What if Lance had frozen and couldn't ask Allura out on a date in Season 8, Episode 1? Instead, Lance realizes his feelings for Keith and asks him out on a date. Lol, first Klance! Hope you all enjoy! Keith has been haunted since he fought with the Druid. His hand... It just healed... That wasn't a normal thing. Then Zarkon... The emperor told Keith he fought similar to his Galran soldiers. That had honestly scared him. So when the paladins are reunited after being spread throughout space, he tries to hide his insecurities and fears and pain. However, he can't hide it for long.
