Nathan Sibirski was an average boy from Karstraadt in the Isipolts, until on the morning of his seventh birthday, he found a dragon's egg just outside his bedroom door.
Six years later, he and his sister, Kina, head off to collect the hatchling from where Nathan and his father hid it six years ago.
Now, Nathan is a Skyrider, a person who can communicate with dragons, use magic, and ride on their backs. He is a Skyrider with a dream of going to the land of greenery and magic, where he believes he belongs.
With a dragon big enough to carry up to two people and old enough to spurt fire out of her nose, there's nothing that can stop her and Nathan. Or is there?

The dragons have come and gone since the Pliocene epoch when Wooly Mammoths roamed with humans during the ice age. For many of the I and E generation in the Americas and parts of Europe, it was something to avoid being taken by them to their world. But many knew the stories they told, the things they saw and missed, and in this world of social media, the child coming home, reborn as a shifter. For 16-year-old Nathan that was his reality. For 11 years he's not only avoided getting grabbed but helped others avoid a similar fate. But a black dragon was watching him grabbing him only to lay low in the nearby woods, something they did to pick out who'd they take. It did that for 10 years, more than 3 times longer than usual. His actions and the amount of time he had avoided them made him a sort of celebrity in his town in the midwest. But one day that black dragon made its decision, he was to be her hatchling. When they're usually marked the child could turn to protective mode, running from home to prevent drawing attention to other children for the picking, and that's what he did, right to where they last landed. Luck, choice, a possible spell in those claws, whatever you may think doesn't matter. A black dragon never misses its mark. With agility unsurpassed by the other types they're almost impossible to avoid. But these dragons didn't breathe fire, were a threat, nor in any way the size of a 747 max. While Cynder grew up in the Dark Temple deep within the Shattered Mountains of Arc-kana where the Dark Dragon Lord Galventer was training her to be evil. However, Cynder doesn't want to be evil, Galventer took notice of this and cast an evil forbidden spell on her and turned her into Dark Cynder. When Kya touches a dark purple dragon egg and it hatches Kya becomes one of the legendary Dragon Riders. Nimue is a non important six year old from Oceanus. She is always swimming in the ocean where she feels comfortable, but on land with people she never feels comfortable, especially when the so called people are whispering about her calling her a freak and a witch. Nimue wanted to get away from her old life and her parents. She spent almost every waking moment in the ocean to get away from her village. Nimue's wish however comes true when she touches a dark blue dragon egg from a Dragon Rider, and it hatches for her. This a fanfic of Wings of Fire, Spirit Animals, and The Inheritance Cycle.
