Jade-Lily Bo'ehr is the wife of the General of the army of Tsuchengko.  Everyone is in danger due to a growing rebel army, the Gongjensu, that threaten not only them, but all the other kingdoms.

When Jade breaks a law for the safety of her husband and her kingdom, she is exiled-never to return, never to see her family again.

She goes to Arrian, a kingdom very different from her own. She grows there, she makes friends.

But the threat of the Gongjensu hangs over them, and Lily's fate becomes more and more entwined with them, while her husband is still far away.

She can only hope that they make it out alive.
