21-year-old Maria is struggling with getting a job. Why? Because she's black.
23-year-old Jeanne owns a posh cafe, but is struggling to get customers or workers to help her out in business. When she finds Maria on the streets, she would never guess the dark-skinned woman would become her number 1 employee, let alone her best friend.
22-year-old Nathan becomes manager for Jeanne's cafe. He sneaks Maria a job behind his boss's back. He is the only one Maria trusts.
