After Lissa was crowned Queen and everything had settled, Rose and Dimitri took a week-long holiday to go back to his family in Siberia. His family needed to see that he is no longer a Strigoi. They expected a lot of commotion, a party bigger than the memorial of his death, and lots of hard questions about his time as a Strigoi. What they did not expect was a mission to kill a Strigoi called the Blood King, that had been terrorizing the humans in the small town.
I had wondered if Rose and Dimitri had gone back to Russia to his family at the end of the series, and now I know. It was quite romantic, since Dimitri dropped hints about wanting to marry Rose quite a few times. He was about 24, so it was not weird if he got married, but Rose could not get over that since her age is just 18. Rose insisted on not marrying until her age starts with a 2. Yeva did predict a marriage coming, but all I see till now is Sonya and Mikhail's.
Rose relationship with Dimitri's mother was okay, but Rose and his grandmother's, Yeva's relationship seemed a lot like those mother-in-law/daughter-in-law relationships that argued a lot every day for the heck of it. It was quite hilarious. Rose argued with every prediction Yeva made, and claim that Yeva had no real predicting powers and are just saying cryptic things that can be interpreted in millions of ways. Rose is lucky Dimitri is not settling down in Russia.
After all the things they went through, you can now see an obvious change in the interaction between Dimitri and Rose. When they are strategizing a plan, Dimitri no longer talks to Rose like she was his student, but now as his equal and partner. I really like this change about them, and it has shown how much Rose had grown. I hope we get to see Rose and Dimitri's marriage someday, perhaps in the Bloodlines series or in another short story.

Her heart jumped out of her chest when her eyes locked with it's red ones.
A late run in the woods one night brought Asher to human teenagers camping in the woods. The fact that they could feel free to party there despite all the stories told about the woods interest him and a flitting thought to see what they were up to brought him face to face to someone he never thought he would meet.
She was not pretty and wasn't even the average of his taste in women but there was something about her that seemed to pull him and seemed to calm his raging demon. But apart from that was something else, something that screamed danger and might ruin all his years of effort.
