Her mom's case was ongoing for almost 2 years. But being that they never found the person responsible, they closed the case and labeled it as unsolved. The only upside to all of Ginger's trauma was that she was finally getting her dad back in her life after 4 dreadful years. He now had custody of her and Berlin prior to their mom's murder. She was really looking forward to living with him again being that she already knew how life was with him before her mom drove him away. Except this time was very different. She noticed a change in him. He was more on edge. Guarded. Granted, something terrible happened to the woman he loved, but Ginger felt like it was something more than that. Like it had something to do with what was written on the wall the day that she walked in on the grisly scene that fate brought upon her mother. She thought that after a while he'd shift back into the same old dad she knew and loved but it never happened. In fact, he became more cautious and reluctant as time went on. She never knew why until, now that she thinks about it...
