You are driving down a forest, to your old house that's in the middle of the woods. You reach your old house, you haven't even gotten out of your vehicle yet and you have shivers down your spine. You look in your glovebox, you see a note and a key. The note says: "Hi wonderful daughter! Welcome home from your vacation! The key to the front door is in this letter. Enjoy the house!" You close the letter and get outside your vehicle with the key in hand. You walk to your old home feeling goosebumps on your arms and legs... You get the key through the hole, and walk inside. There's trash everywhere, but you manage to get through the garbage, and go the stairs. "To my old room I suppose." You said. The floors creek, but you continue walking. "This place...sorta has an oder to it..." You said "Meh, it's probably nothing." You reached your room "Ah, my old room. I remember it like it was yesterday that I was in here!" It was like any other day, i was with my daughter, amelia. She was about to fall sleep. She was in so much peace. No worry in the world. Her green eyes were shining, from the light of the moon. They slowly closed, and she drifted off into her soft snoring. For a 3 year old, she sure knows how to mess with your heart. I felt so bad. Her father left. Well, my husband found somebody better i guess. We had her when i was 20, and he left when she was only 4 months old. What a life. During my deep thinkink, the tv stated making that fog horn type noise, waking me up from my trance. The news was on, with the alert reading across the screen. "TAKE COVER, STAY IN HOMES. LOCK DOORS, STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS" i lay amelia in her bed, out of my lap. I lock the windows and the doors. When i came back, i missed whatever the alert was about...i should have waited. That mistake changed my life forever...
