In the near future, when the Earth was finally deteriorated into pieces by the continuous change of weathers, tsunamis and earthquakes, a new country called Genevix was formed from the ruins of the seven continents, where the vestige of the society lives. Controlled by the capital city, Metropolis, the Affinity Test was designed to sort those who are useful to the human race. This year, it is seventeen year old Cara Montgomery's turn to take the test. Together with his best friend, Kyle, they took off to the city to fulfill that requirement. But the test was just the beginning of something that could change their lives forever.

Ever thought surviving first period-and facing her best friend's boyfriend, whom she recently kissed-would be the hardest part of her day. She was wrong. The world is ending. Literally. Between dodging awkward hallway interactions with her best friend's boyfriend and dodging the apocalypse, Ever discovers she may be the one person capable of saving mankind. No pressure, right? But just when she's barely wrapping her head around her destiny, a mysterious (and annoyingly handsome) stranger shows up. He drives her crazy, yet somehow feels...familiar. And he just might hold the key to unlocking Ever's forgotten past-and to stopping the strange, earth-shattering events unraveling the future. As secrets unfold and loyalties are tested, Ever has to make a choice: walk away from the chaos and pretend the world isn't ending-or embrace her destiny and risk everything to save it. After all, being a teenager is hard. Being the savior of humanity? That's a whole new level. *This is book one in a series
