▎when first introduced to high school, most would expect life-long friendships and laughter, rather than life-long confusion and anger. such was the case for erin viertel, who had been confronted with such feelings all her life and had only continued to grow despite her constant attempts to push it down. of course, when finally coming to light of what those feelings mean, she was met with less than positive public responses.

▎in reality, those who had heckled her and stood by her both found themselves questioning themselves as well, making it a harder task to judge her as they did any other. especially for one particular student named holly fortescue, who manages to get her heartstrings tugged by erin, and not just because of her story. unfortunately, it's hard to think otherwise when an incident regarding school newspapers and accidental stumbles cause a rift in their slow friendship; one that seems unlikely to be fixed.
