Quiet rumours have been invading Canada of something strange and powerful.

First, the power goes out. The cars wont start. The clocks stop working. Cellphones wont turn on.

Then the whispers of monsters begin. A troll under a bridge in Halifax. A massive, white beast in the Northwest Territories, stalking families, leaving nothing but blood behind. And the woman in the pestle in New Brunswick, terrorizing people in the swaths of forest around the Saint John region.

Glenn has always been firmly rooted in reality. Often mistaken for a bit of a meathead out of his love of hockey, he has always loved science and fact. So when he begins to hear these rumours, Glenn immediately writes it off as being paranoia and panic. After all, there are no such things as those faerie-tale beasts!

But when the power goes out, and the strange paranormal situation hits his small hometown, Glenn finds himself unable to rationalize what's happening.

Katina knows what's happening. This is the event that the women in her family have trained and learned for, for centuries--including herself! With the knowledge that her witch mother has been teaching her since she was a toddler, Katina is sure she knows what to do to at least keep them safe, But she's not too sure she's prepared to tell her friend Glenn that his idea of reality has been wrong for a very long time.

Sometimes fate brings you exactly what you need before you even realize it. *** Brigid Kelly has lost everything and no amount of spells or wishes stopped it. After her Gran fell ill and passed away, Brigid wasn't able to keep her grandmother's metaphysical shop going. With everything crashing down around her, Brigid buys a one-way ticket to the land of her ancestors, hoping to find solace in the old cabin where her Gran grew up. Ireland is everything she was always told it was and then some. As she sorts out the slowly declining house in the woods, she's thrust into the path of handsome Torin Boyle by circumstance. The walls she's built up around her heart are slowly chipped away as Torin reveals pieces of himself as well, opening not only his home but his heart too. Torin Boyle has spent the last thirty-odd years living in the North of Ireland, running through the rolling hills with his friends. As a pack of wolf Shifters in a country that has no natural wolves, Torin has learned to keep a tap on his inner emotions to protect those he loves. But his homeland is dying; small patches of forest turning brown and dry. When a witch appears on his family's land out of nowhere, he's concerned that the witch is to cause for what's been happening to the land. He never expected to feel pulled into her orbit so completely. Brigid's idyllic life comes to a halt when Torin's father falls ill, closely followed by other members of the Shifter's family. The land around them - the very land where Brigid's ancestors lived - is dying. If Brigid and Torin can't figure out how to fix it, she might not be the only one losing those she loves. **Trigger Warnings - mentions of hospitals and death/cancer; loosing loved ones**

#397 in general fiction 08.12.2020 #108 in paranormal romance 01.10.2024 ---------------------------------------------------- THIS IS THE ORIGINAL VERSION! Welcome to Protected, the first book of The Moon Phase Trilogy! This is somewhat your typical werewolf book, but it's a little different ;) Ericka Bluhm has a normal life: she has loving parents, crazy but lovable siblings, a best friend and a crush she drools over whenever he walks by in school. She has two jobs and she's getting excited about school. It's her last year of high school and she can't wait to leave. Just a week before school starts, she comes home after her camp job and sees something different about her home: curtains are closed, lights are off and the doorknob is scratched. Her mind went to a place she hoped didn't happen, but when she walked in the house, she didn't like what she saw: house was trashed, her mother lying on the ground dead and her father no where to be found. She ran upstairs to her two sisters screaming and saw a dark figure hovering in the opposite corner of her sisters. The figure took a step towards her and knocked her out. After that incident she had felt strange rumblings inside of her. A week after that she meets a boy, who's staying with her best friend for the year. Ericka feels like he's following her around, but she can't prove it. What she CAN prove is that there is a blond and white wolf watching her every move. The only real question is, why? Find out what happens with Ericka and her younger sisters as they go through dangers they've never seen before and grieve over their murdered mother. Along with finding out where their father went in such a big hurry. [Word Count before editing: 50,000 - 55,000 words]

When violence breaks out at the border of her new home, Charlotte begins to wonder if there's a monster in the midst she's never suspected before. Working with her husband is a new challenge she never sees coming. His wolf is hungry for human flesh and desires one thing above all: his bride.
