What would you do if you were given superpowers?

Oliver Jordan's day was like any other: Dealing with customers and coworkers at Job #1, getting delayed on the way to Job #2 by another senseless superhero battle, and delivering that last pizza of the night to Old Man Pembleton.

Except this time Mr. Pembleton's tip is far from normal. This time Oliver is given a ring that would grant him powers beyond his wildest dreams. Oliver only needs to figure out how to make the thing work.

Not an easy task when you are busy dealing with apathetic teenagers and alien abduction.

The Mighty is an online serial set in and around Garrison City, home to such heroes (or Mighties) as the Shadow Fox, Power Surge, Lady V, Spitfire, and the legendary Captain Might.

Can Oliver Jordan find the time to work two jobs, provide for his family, attend school functions, spend quality time with the wife and kids, and save the world?

Only time will tell.

(Book 1 is complete) "I Became the God of Velmoryn" If you were given the power of a god, what would you do? I didn't get the luxury of choosing. One moment, I was a nobody, just a freelance web developer with a failed law degree and a cat who barely tolerated me. Next, I woke up floating in the void, staring at a glowing blue screen that told me I was now a god. A weak, insignificant one, sure, but a god nonetheless. No instructions. No divine wisdom. Just me, a barren status window, and an empty faith with no followers. The first thing I did? I destroyed the last statue of the god who came before me. If I was going to be a god, I needed worshippers and what better way to start than with a little divine intervention? Now, I have a broken and lost tribe looking for answers, a system I don't understand, and a world that won't take kindly to a new deity on the rise. But if the gods of this world think I'm just another nobody, they're in for a surprise. I don't plan on being insignificant forever. What to expect: - 2,000+ Words per Chapter - Selfish, Calculative MC - 1st Person POV - Not a Very Slow Progression - Gods & Intricate Power System - Unique mix of RTS & RPG - Unique Worldbuilding with Various Races & Monsters - Adventure Elements like Dungeons & Exploration - Side Characters with Real Motives - No Harem - Images to Enhance the Reading Experience Release Schedule: - Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Superpowered: A Family Affair by jlbwritesitall
1 part Complete
It's so easy to hate super heroes. They're arrogant, they're destructive, and they're everywhere. Then there's the spandex. My God...the spandex. Some want to be famous, some want to get rich, and some just want to dispense their own vision of vigilante justice. Then there's Dennis. Married forty something father of three who puts in long hours as a bank executive in Philadelphia. He observes these Supers (general term used for humans with exceptional abilities) daily, cursing as they trash the city, demolish landmarks, and wreak havoc on his insurance premiums. Dennis' biggest problem though, is that he's one of them. He's spent his entire life just trying to be normal. Getting married, raising a family, and having a good job are all he's ever wanted. Is it really too much to ask to just live, love, and retire in peace? Of course it is! Supers are easily monetized. Comic books, movie deals, television shows, public appearances, and well paid security gigs draw people with any kind of powers to join the limelight with the rest. Dennis comes to find that no matter how much you deny who you are, the world will never stop spinning, and you will eventually be dragged right along with it. Unfortunately for him, that dragging is bloody, painful, and unrelenting. Superpowered is a first person fiction narrative from the eyes of a reluctant, power-wielding human being. Focusing not on super heroes or super villains, but instead on people with extraordinary abilities, this book will take you along for Dennis' tense, thrilling, and gruesome journey through the highs and heartbreaking lows.

Dont Be a Hero

57 parts Complete

Detective Jackson Wolfe thought he had stepped into the pages of a comic book. The first indication was the unlikely partner he'd been paired with. Macy Grey was a seemingly naive, annoying-yet-beautiful blonde Betty Boop. He was further astounded when he learned the nature of their department. He had been assigned to the highly confidential and brand new V.S.I.D... or The Vigilante and Super-human Investigations Department. Wait... what? Did old Chief Munson have a sense of humor after all? Were they pranking the "new kid on the block"? Jackson didn't buy it. "Go forth! Track down and arrest thee Spiderman... and his cohorts!". Well, it was no prank. What's more, it didn't prove to be an easy task. The alleged "super-powered" vigilantes were apparently much better equipped and far better trained than the police or F.B.I's most valued and effective members. This just fueled the desire to put a stop to them. After all, no one should be allowed to apprehend criminals without doing mountains of paperwork!
