An Inkling Boy wandered Inkopolis Square. He saw--from a distance-- an elder man who looked distressed. Out of curiosity--he went to the elder man (by the name of Cap'n Cuttlefish), and was informed that there was an evil Octarian leader, DJ Octavio. This Octarian enslaved and brainwashed the innocent Octolings with a pair of shades, and made them seemingly like his own fighting minions, some of them more elite than others; who did whatever bidding he wished. Why, you may ask? The Great Zapfish. The only power source that was stolen from the Inklings. On the Inkling Boy's journey hew would find love... with an Octoling.

So much has happened the past few years, DJ Octavio's defeat in claiming the Great Zapfish, Commander Tarter's doomsday laser, and Mr. Grizz's failed attempt to bring mammals back to the planet. Some of which could have spelled the end of Inkling-kind and the end of the world, but now a year has passed and things have finally settled down for the New Squidbeak Splatoon. Sort of... DJ Octavio is still loose, and a band of criminals and disgruntled turfers has made a name for themselves in Inkopolis. And to make matters worse, the Great Zapfish has been stolen!...again. At the same time, a few creatures, the likes of which the world thought would never see again, has stepped back out into the light to a world they are never prepared for. This is a story that follows the main character, a boy named Jared who starts off as a new inkling joining the neighborhood sport in his world known as Splatoon. He just turned 14 recently and is a bit of a newb so he doesn't know at all how to play the game or move really fast but thankfully he meets many new friends and rivals to help guide and motivate him into doing better. Along his battles he discovers inkopolis's enemies, the Octarians and gets involved in saving inkopolis from them. Wether or not he succeeds in defeating them is for you to find out. The history of humanity has always been shrouded in mystery and speculation. Remains and technology have been found, but that only tells the species that replaced humanity so much. These two new life forms are the Inklings and Octolings. Cephalopod like humanoids with tentacles for hair and weapons that fire ink. Two relatively docile races that have evolved to become land dwelling creatures and build their own civilization. These two races would live together in harmony before going to war, then would go back to living in peace. But after all that, humanity still remains a massive mystery. Not a single human would be seen for the last 12,000 years, thus, they were thought to be completely extinct. But that wouldn't be the case, inside a bunker near the city of Inkopolis would be a human.
