Clarissa Reed was all her brother had left, since the death of their mother and their father going to jail. 

She'd promised him that she'd never leave him. But what happens when she gets an unexpected call from her only friend, who'd gone missing a bit ago? 

He had called to warn her. 

Clare gets pulled into this world of adventure, mystery, while she's still in high school. 

Dealing with this new threat giving her tests and tasks that she has to follow or else there'd be consequences; all while she's still trying to survive high school and boy troubles. 

This was nothing what she had in mind.
