Lina Mitchell was your average 16 year old girl. That is, before THEY came. Her life, now in shambles after a harrowing night of non-stop running, Lina struggles to find survivors, and in a terrified stupor, begins to search for those she had lost, determined to figure out what had caused this, and why. A year later, Lina is still running, but now she's not sure what she's running from. After finding a group of survivors, Lina begins to uncover things she didn't know about the virus, and more importantly, things she didn't know about herself.
